Fursona Plush Info

What materials are these cuties made from?

Minky! All my plushies are made from super soft smooth minky

Embroidery...?

Yes, those gorgeous eyes, toe beans and paw pads are all embroidered using super shiny thread, and I even have glow in the dark thread!

I've seen that style of plush before...?

That's because pattern making causes me to cry, so I use patterns by TeaCupLion for my fursona plushies!

My sona has 3 tails...

That's no problem, I can indeed add extra limbs if required (check out the slide show for a 3 tailed character)

Can you add clothing?

Nope. That's a solid nope, I hate making tiny clothing - I'll cry in a corner if you ask me to make doll clothing, most of these patterns actually fit build a bear clothes!

Can I have different eyes?

Absolutely! I have a hoard of embroidery eye designs for you to choose from!

The arms, how are they waving?!

The magic of plastic doll joints, these allow the arms to be rotated and hold a cute little waving pose!

Sublimation Printing

What the hell is sublimation printing?

Firstly here's some plushies I've made that are sublimation printed!

Sublimation Printing is a fun process, it allows for full customization in places sewing cant!

The process that happens is this ~

I use procreate on my ipad, scan in each pattern piece and draw the design into the parts

(this takes a few hours... or longer)

I then whoosh my files off to my laptop

My laptop converts the file images to a CYMK format

Then my sublimation printer has a fight with the laptop

The special paper has been printed on and the fun part begins...

This special paper & special ink work with heat, I tape the paper onto my minku fabric using magic tape and hold my little heat press down for around 180 seconds

... Then the magic happens, the ink transforms into a gas and sinks into the minky fabric permanently changing the colour to whatever I designed!

Sounds like fun doesn't it!

The fabric stays nice and soft, however the only issues with this style of plush to note -

Black - Doesn't come out as black more of a dark brown

White - No such thing as white ink... White markings need to be "erased" into the design to work, think of drawing a square and filling it in blue, now take your eraser and make a spot of erased colour- thats how you do white markings, it uses the base fabric colour :)

Lastly the colour at the tips of ears, seams...

You will see white, that's normal and just apart of the plush, if you zoom in on the photo's above you'll see the white fabric visible in the plushies, this is since the ink can't sink all the way into the back of the fabric, due to it having a pile, and me not having an industrial machine

This is much more noticeable on dark plushies, I highly recommended using sublimation printing on fun bright coloured characters, check out the Fluro pink wolf I made above!
